About Nuit

Nuit (nwee): French for night but also refers to the Egyptian goddess of the night sky. Nuit is often depicted as a woman with stars on her body, arched over Geb, the god of earth. Many interpretations link her to themes that align closely with intuition, mystery and hidden wisdom.

I have always felt comforted by the night sky, always searching for the moon, I feel most connected to her. That's why it only made sense to name my candle company Nuit. In fact, the idea to create my own candle company came from a late night walk through the west village with a friend.

Since moving to New York City in 2011, I have remained in creative spaces. After graduating from Aveda Institute of New York, I went on to style hair for private clients, photo shoots and TV. Between clients, you can find me photographing the city, traveling, listening to music, reading, snuggling my cat or hosting dinner parties at my home in Brooklyn, to name a few things.

My style is eclectic, mixing highs and lows, old and new. Creating an intimate and vibey atmosphere in my home is important to me. I hope that my candles find their way into your home to help you create an atmosphere that makes you happy.

xoxo,

Jordan
